helpers.

You know those trippy moments when you are thinking about someone or something and then it appears, in some form, right in front of you? And you’re like, “whoa, did I do that?”

Yesterday I was thinking and thinking about how many people have helped me the last 40 days. I was stunned by how many helpers I have had as I reviewed each of their beautiful faces in my mind. Each of those humans that took time out of their already demanding lives, to be a helper in my life. I was thinking that no matter what happens, I will never forget all of my helpers. And then I received this quote and note from Marisa Tingle, IBY teacher :)

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers — so many caring people in this world." — Mister Rogers

“We don't have to be scared even though we are living in uncertain times. There is so much kindness in the world when we look around. There are helpers everywhere: Friends and family reaching out, checking in. Neighbors dropping off meals and supplies. When you choose to be a helper you transmute fear into love. Let’s look for the helpers, but more importantly, let’s be helpers ourselves in whatever big and small ways we can.” – Marisa Tingle

Thank you to Marisa, Mr. Rogers, all of my helpers and all of your helpers. In their honor, let’s keep helping others.

Big love,
Tammy
