move over.

I wrote this in my journal on 3/17/20:

Move over habits, routines, expectations, distractions, COVID has moved in. We can run and hide and get afraid. Or we can look it in the face and say what are you here to teach me?

And then I remembered a favorite Rumi quote which seems to be relevant to remember:

The Guest House: This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice. meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. Be grateful for whatever comes. because each has been sent as a guide from beyond. — Rumi

This is what we can do for each other, remind ourselves, remind each other that this moment is for great, unprecedented, collective learning. Thank you all for being my teachers.

What are you learning? Share with me :)

Big love,
Tammy
