The words below are from Abbey, teacher at IBY shared in a note to me. I asked permission to share them, because they are beautiful:

“…I also believe, from the very truest fiber of my heart that we are all exactly where we are supposed to be. We are in the fire, and it is changing us. It brings me to tears just sitting here typing about it, because the loss is massive on so many levels for so many people of this world and in so many different ways but death and life, destruction and creation, they are intertwined. The rising will come. From the mud.”
