Yoga for Fibromyalgia

Sally will lead a workshop for a group of people who experience this painful and frustrating condition. Yoga can help.

There are ZERO expectations for how you will move in this class. Even if you can’t move at all, I will have lots of amazing ways to lie down and rest with props that will be provided. I will also bring extra tissues because all emotions are welcome! You will be loved and accepted exactly as you are.
— Sally, Workshop Leader and Fibromyalgia Survivor

Whom is this workshop for?

It's for people diagnosed with Fibromyalgia who are looking for a supportive space to connect with others, breathe, relax, and be in their bodies without fear, shame, or judgment. Friends and loved ones are also welcome.

What are the benefits of yoga for folks who experience fibromyalgia?

Keeping the nervous system out of the stress response is one of the most important keys to keeping fibromyalgia symptoms at bay, and yoga is a perfect tool for that. Yoga gives people a chance to move according to their own needs and rest whenever it's called for. And the power of mindfulness cannot be overstated.

Have you seen or experienced yoga's impact on bodies (and minds) with fibromyalgia?

I've seen the impact of yoga in my own Fibromyalgia body for 22 years. It's an incredibly frustrating and misunderstood condition to live with and I credit yoga with giving me the strength and courage to continue to live a full life despite my illness.

I'm here to help my fellow Fibromyalgia friends and students.

Yoga for Fibromyalgia. Saturday, July 30, 1:30-3:30 p.m. with Sally in River. $30.

Movement and Mindfulness are a vital part of a holistic approach to living with Fibromyalgia, an often misunderstood and stigmatized medical condition. Yoga can be so beneficial to people with Fibromyalgia but a standard yoga class may sometimes feel too daunting for people with pain, weakness, or fatigue. In this workshop you will enter a safe, non-judgmental space to discuss your condition with people who understand the challenges of living with Fibromyalgia.

Together we will explore gentle movement strategies to help you live with more ease and peace in your body, as well as mindfulness techniques and deep relaxation. For more information email Sally: sally.yogatherapy@gmail.com
