Here we learned a little more about Claire and her yoga journey and practice.
How did your journey to yoga evolve? How did you land on the mat?
I was always curious about yoga and tried it once on vacation. The experience was so enjoyable, I immediately began taking classes after vacation. I was experiencing high anxiety at the time and soon noticed a huge change in my well being. Soon I began practicing a few times a week and discovered the meditative aspect of vinyasa yoga (breath and movement) and was hooked!
What keeps you coming back to your mat?
What keeps me coming back to my mat is how good, alive and clear headed I feel after most practices. On those days when I don’t leave feeling that way, it’s alright because I know my next practice will be exactly what I need and look forward to it. There’s also the warm and welcoming environment at Inner Bliss where I’m blessed to meet, get to know and practice with some of the nicest people I’ve ever mixed with 😍It feels like going to church.
What is the best part of being a yoga teacher?
There are so many cool things about being a yoga teacher.....it doesn’t feel like a job, I’m just doing one of my favorite things and teaching it to friends. It’s a real honor to have the opportunity to serve in this way.
What is the hardest part of being a yoga teacher?
The hardest part about being a yoga teacher, for me, is knowing that, at some point, not every single student might leave having had a great experience, or that I might miss noticing someone who really needs some extra love.
What is the one thing you would like your students to know about practicing yoga?
The one thing I’d like my students to know about yoga...your practice is sure to grow with patience and persistence. We reap what we sow ❤️ you’ll be able to practice some form of yoga the rest of your life.
A little known fact about you?
Something you may not know about me is that I teach Christian yoga called Sanctified, inspired by my own prayer practice. This special class is an all levels vinyasa flow practice with biblical meditations, affirmations and quiet prayer. Please join me for a class sometime!
