Self-Love: Yoga Gold by Jeanna Lax
by Jeanna Lax
Many people confuse selfishness with self-love.
Self-love means that you take care of yourself and your needs first. Then, once you’ve tended to ALL of your needs with appreciation and kindness to yourself, you can share that loving energy with others.
Rather than trying to take love from someone or something else, you've created your own source. Your love shines from the inside to the outside.
Standing in the sunshine of another person’s love feels good, but this cannot be your starting point. You need to be the starting point for your love.
You must shine your own light and your own love from within because love is not something to take from others, it is something to share and be shared.
Yoga is a practice of self-care, self-love, and self-connection. Each time you practice, you are taking time to listen to your body, your own thoughts, and your feelings with each breath.
You are shifting your gaze from the outer world to your inner world.
