the gut.

Good morning! This is a new spin on some writing I did about a year ago. I like going back and revisiting old writing - it reminds me of things I know that are buried in the layers of my being, but forgotten.

Often all we need to move forward is held in the remembering of going back.

Everyday I learn.

Open to new ideas, listening to the ideas of others, reading, conversations and mostly inner study. The getting still to listen to my body, acknowledging my intuition and trusting myself.

Recently I was reminded of something I learned from a good friend last year that sort of blew my mind at the time! Here it is: 90% of serotonin is produced in our gut!

Most of you may know that serotonin is the key hormone that stabilizes our mood, feelings of well-being, and happiness as well as impacting our entire being related to sleeping, digestion and overall feelings of vitality. What you may not have known, like me, is that while there are many factors that help in serotonin production, good gut health is a big one.

We know that yoga (breathing, moving, arms over the head, elevating heart rate, bending, stretching, etc) helps with serotonin production and now we can be aware that what we consume (eat, drink) also is an important factor.

Now we know we can eat healthy foods that will help with good gut health and serotonin production in the gut. Most of these foods are whole, all-natural, unprocessed foods like nuts, seeds, eggs, pineapple, salmon and turkey to list a few.

The Experience, a cleanse based on whole, unprocessed foods, helps to improve your gut health and increase levels of serotonin in your body - helping to elevate your state! Just a plug for something I really believe in!

Go eat some good food today and create a good mood for yourself!

Big love,
Tammy
