Act.
Most of you reading this already know that changing your mind/thoughts/mental patterns is no easy task.
We do the daily work of breathing, we moving, meditation, visualization and so on to change the pathways in our mind so we can think and feel in more uplifted, productive, compassionate ways.
Accomplished author and speaker, A.J. Jacobs shares in his book “Thanks a Thousand: A Gratitude Journey” that it may be easier to “act your way into new thinking than think your way into new action.” Perhaps we can commit to actions that lead us to the way we want to think. He offers the idea that if we want to have a more grateful mind, we simply commit to an action every day to say thank you. Maybe a note, a gift, a favor, even a kind word to a lucky someone, could actually rewire the mind to come to rest more on thanks and gratitude.
This could be a great time to trial this inner experiment. If we find it true, what other actions could we take that if repeated, change our thought patterns?
Big love,
Tammy
