in forgiveness.
My teacher, Max Strom teaches that practicing forgiveness can be one of the single most powerful tools we have to heal. In particular, it is healing to forgive ourselves - for not being perfect.
He teaches that as we forgive ourselves for not being perfect, we can forgive others for not being who we want them to be or for not doing what we want them to do - and well you know, the list goes on.
I find the holidays a really great time to put a little more attention around this practice. We can have this storybook idea of what the holidays should look like and when our characters (including ourselves) or situations don’t match up with the romanticized version of the holidays, we get frustrated or well, one of the other draining emotions.
Forgiving yourself and everyone in your life for not being perfect can free up so much energy for all of us to enjoy this time no matter how it all unfolds. Perfectly imperfect.
The practice can begin on your mat - forgiving yourself for not being perfect and loving yourself as you are, in this moment.
Hoping to see you on the mat this week!
Big love, Tammy
