comparison.

At first glance this seems like a friendly word. We can compare apples to oranges, the white paint to the black paint, the cupcake to the chocolate cake. Comparing seems to be a word of great utility, helpful even.

But comparison quickly turns on us. In our beautiful, tender human-ness, we fall from comparison for utility to comparison inciting havoc without even realizing it. Before we know it, we are comparing our hair, pants, job, accomplishments and even our worth, to everyone around us. social media loves our comparison trap. It actually feeds on it.

Be careful. You are more than your latest comparison.

Comparison is a trap. Comparing ourselves to others is defeating. It is disempowering. It is paralyzing.

My mantra when I catch myself in the comparison trap is, “keep your eyes on your own path.” My husband will remind me of my mantra when he catches me comparing.

Have a mantra. Catch yourself. Turn your mind around. You can do this.

Big love,
Tammy
