feelings evoked.

How we feel in any given moment, directly relates to our experience of life. Period.

How we feel matters and getting behind what creates and drives our feelings, can be transformational in how we engage with this one precious life.

This is a giant subject and I am not qualified to tackle it in depth. But, I can speak to how yoga - the threading together of poses and breath, elicits certain feelings and even how specific poses can help us sink into feelings we are inviting into our day to day experience of living in these divine bodies we were gifted at birth.

When we take a conscious breath in, we are giving ourselves a chance to feel uplifted, invigorated or even expansive. When we exhale that breath deliberately, we are giving ourselves a chance to feel a sense of release as well as rooted or anchored in the moment. To take one round of conscious breath and feel uplifted and rooted at the same time = magic.

Standing in a strong Mountain pose can elicit a feeling strength, boldness and even courage. With the palms facing open, alongside the body, feet stretched into the ground, legs engaged, belly strong, head up and heart open, we can feel taller and even stronger than we felt seconds before this pose. Mountain gives us the chance to feel powerful and yet in touch with expansiveness of an open, empathic heart.

Child’s pose can bring us to a feeling of safety and calm with our hearts protected and attention turned inward towards the heart. In Child’s pose we give ourselves a chance to feel ease and restful, relaxed and protected. We also may feel a sense of returning to ourselves or a feeling of closeness to our intuition.

Yoga is many things - a seemingly endless amount of amazingness is held in this practice. One of these things that yoga is - a path towards getting clear on how we want to feel and practicing our poses in support of the feelings we are inviting in and moving towards.

Never underestimate the power of an hour of yoga on your feelings and in how you experience the world around you 🌼

Biggest love,
Tammy
